# Chapter 105
Esports clubs with a bit of history usually develop their own unique characteristics.
As competitive projects, roster changes come quickly, but esports clubs have a kind of magic—as players come and go through generations, each club沉淀s its own distinct flavor.
Take NSN, for example—Never Say Never. A few days ago on the finals stage, even when victory seemed impossible, they still went head-to-head with Yu Sui and the others using their signature aggressive playstyle. Lose if they must, but they would never back down from a fight.
Or take Saint—their boss and players alike are all saints, kind and gentle. They'll give their all for their own players, and willingly serve as free training partners for rival teams in the league.
Then there's Free… their biggest characteristic… is probably just how much they sabotage each other.
Even though they're teammates who've crossed through fire together, even though they're lovesick couples.
Two years ago, Yu Sui could kick Shi Luo straight into the college entrance exam room. Two years later, he can lie to his sleep-deprived, starving little god without so much as a blush.
After eating, Shi Luo still felt sleepy—extremely sleepy, so tired he could barely keep his eyes open. Yu Sui packed up the food container and had Shi Luo lie back down on the bed. Shi Luo frowned and buried his face in Yu Sui's pillow, drifting off.
Yu Sui took the container downstairs, came back up, changed clothes, and sat on the edge of the bed. Shi Luo grabbed Yu Sui's hand. "This is so cold…"
"It's gotten colder today, and it's raining. The second floor is better; the first floor is even colder." Yu Sui scratched under Shi Luo's chin. "Little god, how many days has it been since you went downstairs?"
Shi Luo shifted, scooting toward the center of the bed. "Get… get up here…"
Yu Sui got onto the bed, and Shi Luo nestled closer, closing his eyes again.
Yu Sui continued scrolling on his phone. Shi Luo kept napping.
An hour later, Shi Luo opened his eyes.
Well-rested and fed, with his brain back to its usual "taking the math exam in nothing but my birthday suit and still scoring 130" form, Shi Luo slowly sat up and narrowed his eyes. "Yu Sui, I think your logic is a little off."
Yu Sui, still on his phone, didn't look up. He sighed quietly. "Little god, with such a young age, why be so clever?"
Shi Luo was exasperated. "What the hell…"
"What if I just did it? What can you do about it? If you had a second chance, I'd probably have started following you even earlier." Yu Sui looked up at Shi Luo and smiled. "My hand just itches like this. How do you want to get back at me? You tell me."
Yu Sui leaned against the headboard, good-natured as ever. "Don't touch my eyes, don't disable my hands. Everything else is fair game. I won't dodge. If I get disfigured, I won't tell anyone it was you."
"Tsk…" Yu Sui barely held back a laugh. "Where else would you find a boyfriend this good? Enduring humiliation, getting abused by you, and still keeping my mouth shut."
There was no way Shi Luo could actually bring himself to hit Yu Sui, but he really couldn't swallow this anger. His head was spinning from rage. Gritting his teeth, he spoke haltingly. "You… you…"
Yu Sui's scumbag nature was showing. When he saw Shi Luo wasn't moving, he slightly lifted his chin, eyes full of amusement. "Want me to slap myself a few times?"
Shi Luo looked at Yu Sui's unfairly handsome face and lost all his steam. He frowned. "Stop joking around. You dare hurt yourself and see what happens…"
Yu Sui lowered his head and laughed softly. "That's self-harm now? Then what can I do to let you vent?"
Yu Sui suggested again, patiently. "How about this—make me also create a burner account and write you little essays every day? Then you use your main account to like my posts every day?"
Shi Luo was fully awake now and wasn't so easily fooled. He was so frustrated he could burst. "That would only make it worse?! You've already admitted you're in a relationship—what's the point of a burner account? And who wants to like your little essays? Who knows what you'll say about me?!"
"I wouldn't twist things, but I'm probably not as restrained as you." Yu Sui looked at Shi Luo, his voice soft. "I don't care what people say anyway. I definitely wouldn't be all secretive like you—I'd write whatever I want. I'll write about how you poured me hot water. I'll write about how you went downstairs in the middle of the night to turn on the air conditioning for me. I'll write about how you couldn't even speak straight when I teased you, and how you still agreed when I said I wanted you. And then…"
Shi Luo slapped his hand over Yu Sui's mouth.
The little god, mortified, had a bit too much strength behind it. Yu Sui couldn't breathe at all with Shi Luo's hand covering him. Yu Sui didn't struggle even a little—just looked at Shi Luo with gentle eyes, completely still.
Shi Luo had no choice but to let go. Before he knew it, Yu Sui pulled him into his arms and tucked him back under the covers.
"How about this…" Yu Sui kissed Shi Luo's cheek and lowered his voice. "When we're doing something later, why don't you take a few nude photos of me when I'm not paying attention?"
Shi Luo's ears went red. He hissed in a small voice, "Why would I take nude photos of you?!"
"Blackmail." Yu Sui whispered near Shi Luo's ear. "Everyone says I'm a scumbag. Aren't you worried I'll do you wrong? Little god, how many times do I have to trick you before you actually get wary? Get some leverage on me early, okay? If I ever do you wrong in the future, you can just whip out my photos…"
"Shut up." Shi Luo cut him off. He paused, bewildered. "Have you lost your mind? What if I'm the one who falls out of love first? What if I blackmail you for money? Your billions— you're just gonna give that up?!"
Yu Sui smiled. "That impressive, huh? Go ahead and blackmail me… I already owe you everything anyway. If we ever broke up, whatever you wanted, I'd give you. I'd be happy to."
"Tch!" Shi Luo felt both sweet and bitter from Yu Sui's flirting and coaxing. At his limit, he bit Yu Sui's arm again. "Say one more word about breaking up?"
Yu Sui realized his slip. He quickly said, "I was just talking nonsense. Ignore me. Mine."
"Also." Shi Luo frowned. "Who said I was worried you'd do me wrong? What do you mean, 'get wary'?"
Yu Sui paused. "Hold on…"
Yu Sui shifted position slightly, picked up his phone, unlocked it, opened his Weibo DMs, and handed it to Shi Luo, smiling. "You look for yourself."
Shi Luo took Yu Sui's phone and looked down—
【QAQ, God Yu! Is what you said in the interview true? Are you really in a relationship? Where do you even find the time?!】
【Whisper, I've liked you for years, and you just quietly got a partner?! I'm dying…】
【Insider or outsider? Which announcer lady is it? Listen to your sister—don't date outsiders! They don't understand your achievements and hard work!】
"That's not what I meant…" Yu Sui glanced at the messages and laughed. He took the phone back, opened the "unfollowed DMs" filter, and gave it back to Shi Luo. "These people don't even follow me—they're basically all your fans. Look at this one…"
Shi Luo took the phone again, scrolling through line by line—
【Evil hasn't been on his main account for ages, and he won't stream either. There's nowhere to ask! I'm carefully trying to verify— that arrogant little account… is that really our Evil? I don't believe it!!】
【God Yu, is that little account really our Shi Luo's? Did you put some kind of love hex on him?! Has he gone insane?!!】
【After all this time, you two really are together?】
【I could kill you. I knew there was something wrong when that stubborn idiot had to join your team!! Damn it, why!!】
【Sorry God Yu, I got emotional and cursed at you earlier. Sorry. Please be good to Evil. He never accepts fan gifts. We want to get him something he'd like, but every time we ask what he likes, he always says nothing. For him to like you this much… you must deserve it.】
【Seems like it's been confirmed. I respect Shi Luo's choice. Still really like him. Please just take good care of him. I actually guessed it a long time ago—he really has always liked you.】
【Be good to Evil, okay? He's waited two years for you…】
【Please just take good care of our baby Shi. We've liked him for so long, and we all genuinely just want him to be happy. Best wishes for sweetness.】
【No offense, but everyone's saying you're a scumbag, T-T. Please don't hurt our Shi.】
【From now on I'll be a fan of you both. Please don't let down our God Shi, okay?】
【So sorry for having flame-you along with everyone else when I didn't know the truth. Sorry sorry sorry. Please be good to Shi Luo. He's never once flamed you.】
【Heartbroken Shi Shi fan girl humbly requests— please be good to our God Shi. Long-time fans know God Shi is actually someone who's cold on the outside but warm on the inside. He's always been so good to us fans. Before, there were outsiders who didn't understand esports and said a lot of really nasty things about us being mindless fans chasing celebrities. Those words were so disgusting, and we didn't know how to fight back. Most of us are girls, and we couldn't speak up… It was God Shi who said, said he'd speak up for us. He could flame them. He spent the whole night fighting those people for us. Even though he doesn't really interact with us much on normal days, everyone knows he's really a good person.】
Shi Luo's lips parted slightly. He wanted to reply, but then remembered this was Yu Sui's official account and held back.
Yu Sui could tell at a glance what Shi Luo was thinking. He said generously, "Reply whatever you want. If you don't want people to know it's you, just pretend to be me."
"That won't do…" Shi Luo kept reading through the DMs for a while. Finally he let out a long breath. He wanted to say something but was too embarrassed. After hemming and hawing, he said, "Everyone's saying you're a scumbag… You should… reflect on that…"
Yu Sui said lightly, "I reflected. Told you to take my photo as blackmail. You gonna do it or not?"
"No." Shi Luo frowned. "What if someone sees it? I'd be the one who gets embarrassed."
Yu Sui smiled faintly.
This was actually the state Yu Sui had wanted all along. He didn't care about himself, but he hoped Shi Luo could let the fans who'd supported him all along give their blessing.
Saying it out loud would be too sappy. Yu Sui couldn't bring himself to say it, and he knew Shi Luo would be too embarrassed to hear it. Everything was understood without a word.
"I'm done looking. If I look any more, I'll really lose face." Shi Luo rubbed the corner of his eye. "Can I… can I check my own burner account? I'll be careful—won't like anything."
Yu Sui nodded. "Go ahead."
Shi Luo exited Yu Sui's DM interface. After building up his courage, he narrowed his eyes and carefully tapped on his little account.
The DMs on Yu Sui's account were full of nothing but toxic garbage, yet somehow still managed to be warm and touching. On his own little account—the main stage, so to speak—the atmosphere might be warm and harmonious too, right?
With a tiny bit of hope, Shi Luo tapped open his burner's Weibo comments—
【We already know you're not God Shi. Just come out already! Post more Weibos!】
【We already know you're not God Shi. Just come out already! Post more Weibos!】
【We already know you're not God Shi. Just come out already! Post more Weibos!】
As far as his eyes could see, up and down the comments, it was all copy-pasted messages begging for new posts.
Shi Luo squeezed his eyes shut in pain. The fans' acting… was honestly pretty convincing.
