Chapter 101: Completing the World (Three)
In the dark, gloomy sky, the jet-black eyes of those dolls suddenly shifted.
The eyes that should have been rigid instantly became startlingly vivid, but in the next second, the dolls reverted back to their cold, expressionless state.
"Your Highness, what do you think we should do with these?" The guard furrowed his brow, watching the girl continuously bending down to pick up the dolls, his gaze falling upon Qi An, who wore a veil over his face.
His hand rested on the sword hilt at his waist, his expression serious, as if awaiting Qi An's command.
No one reacted abnormally.
It seemed no one had seen that eerie scene just now.
Qi An's gaze fell once more on the pile of dolls in the basket. Because the basket wasn't large, all the dolls had been crammed inside to fit them all. The cute toys lay in a jumbled heap, their faces and bodies twisted out of shape.
Especially... those pairs of black eyeballs.
"She didn't mean any harm. Let's continue on our way." Qi An deliberately lowered his voice.
But the moment his voice rang out, the girl who had been looking down immediately raised her head, her gaze fixed intently on Qi An. When their eyes met, Qi An noticed how black her eyes were.
A deeply oppressive black.
"Thank you... Your Highness." The girl's voice was gentle, but for some reason, she paused eerily for a few seconds in the middle of saying this.
A strong gust of wind suddenly swept across the sky.
Qi An looked up to see a massive flock of crows suddenly erupting from that conspicuous tower.
A dense, dark mass, like a mass of black clouds.
"It's that wizard—he's warning us!" The maid's voice turned to panic in an instant.
"Warning us about what?"
"Warning us to find... that person quickly."
