# Chapter 24
I really couldn't figure out what Xiaowei was thinking. Yang Yun, this guy—though he seemed just as domineering as Shangguan—maybe even had some other problems, but in terms of appearance, manner, and family background, he was really quite excellent. Such a man would absolutely be diamond-tier even in movies, the kind of catch every unmarried woman would compete for. Even if nothing's going on between you two right now, that doesn't mean something can't develop, right?
And you say you're not going to grab this opportunity, but instead drag me and Shangguan along? And three guys with one girl going shopping together... how could that not feel weird?
But Xiaowei made this bizarre request, and Yang Yun kept agreeing. Shangguan looked like he didn't want to go, but that Yang Yun kept saying things like, "Fei-ge is busy so don't force him, but I think A-Yi should be free, right?"
I was busy too! I was very busy! But before I could protest, Xiaowei threw her arm around me and said in an absolutely authoritative tone, "A-Yi definitely has nothing to do. I know him best—even if he did have something, it would just be sleeping!"
You don't know a damn thing! But... well, she wasn't wrong.
"Then it's settled." Yang Yun made the decision immediately, those beautiful eyes of his glittering at me—though they could rival the stars, the more I looked at them, the more I felt they were a warning: if you don't agree—if you don't agree, heh heh heh...
I was indignant, embarrassed, and utterly helpless, only able to glare at these two devils with a flushed face, my heart恨不得 beating them to death.
But no matter how much I hated them, under that kind of warning, I could only shut my mouth and not dare to raise any legitimate protest.
Like when we came, I once again sat in the car with indignation and resentment, and the hateful Xiaowei stuck to me like glue, saying something about preventing us from running away.
Preventing us from running away? I think she was treating me like a toy to liven up her life. She couldn't sit in the passenger seat properly, had to huddle with me in the back seat the whole way—on top of dodging her wandering hands, I had to endure her so-called "righteous trials"!
The forty-five-minute car ride nearly did me in. If Shangguan hadn't come to my rescue now and then, I wouldn't have needed to go shopping—I would've been sent straight to the hospital.
Heaven as my witness, I'd never been so happy to see a downtown area! I could finally be free from that demon woman, finally stop listening to that nonsense, finally—stand on solid ground! But before I could catch my breath, I immediately discovered that, that—my nightmare was just beginning!
As a modern person living in the city, of course I wasn't lacking in shopping experience. Though I hated noisy places the most, I still had to buy necessities. But it wasn't until today that I realized everything I'd done before was just buying things, not shopping.
From the first shop of the first mall, Xiaowei began her rampage. She didn't even let a tiny stall in the corner escape her attention. Clothes, cosmetics, electronics... she bought almost nothing, but she had to look at everything, ask about everything, haggle over everything.
Before we'd even finished one mall, my legs were shaking and my whole body ached. Looking at the swarming crowds and the street stretching hundreds of meters beyond them, I felt my vision go dark and nearly collapsed.
"Okay, onward to the next location!" Xiaowei sparkled with energy, her spirit fully charged. Her right hand swept forward in a gesture like volunteer troops advancing toward Korea.
Now wasn't the time to worry about face. I immediately shook my head like a rattle, firmly stating my position.
"A-Yi, don't be a killjoy." Xiaowei spoke with righteousness and severity.
"You all go ahead and shop. I'll just sit in that McDonald's, and you can call me when you're done." Though that place would definitely be noisy too, I knew the principle of choosing the lesser of two evils.
"A-Yi..." Xiaowei drawled, blinking those big eyes at me, playing the part of a sister currying favor with her big brother.
"Xiaowei, I really can't walk anymore." I looked at her pitifully. If I went on any longer, I'd really collapse.
"Tch, such poor stamina—you really need to get some exercise! Come on, this is your chance to build up your endurance, otherwise you'll never be able to get a wife looking like this! Look at Shangguan, look at Yun-ge—they're so popular because they have great stamina. Look at all the pretty girls checking them out throughout the day. I'm telling you, in this day and age, Lin Daiyu's out of the market. Whether it's men or women, everyone's into good stamina!"
She alternated between threats and temptations. I could only roll my eyes. These two could sit there doing nothing and still attract a crowd of onlookers. But... I had to admit, I was impressed by their stamina. After walking around for so long, they didn't even blink.
But admiration aside, I was used to being compared. No matter how good her pitch was, I wasn't moving another step.
